Moldovan landowners will be able to build agro-tourist pensions without having to change the destination of the lots. Provisions in this respect are contained in a draft amendment to the Land Code adopted in the first reading by the Legislature.
According to the project, the new regulations will benefit only land owners who have been practicing agricultural activities for at least five years.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, who is the author of the project, hopes that with new accommodation facilities on agricultural land, providing accommodation and meals, will contribute to creating new employment opportunities in rural areas and the development of wine tourism .
Rural tourism is a form of tourism oriented towards the use of local tourisM resources, knowledge of the rural environment, local customs and traditions, peasant farms and farmers.
The document examined by Members is intended to contribute to the implementation of the National Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy for the years 2014-2020. According to statistical data, more than 20 agribusinesses operate in the Republic of Moldova.
